Description:
Ability to design interactive media platforms utilizing the Drupal and WordPress platform on a LAMP stack. This requires a thorough knowledge of all the modules and plug-ins available through the Drupal and WordPress for optimal performance.
Knowledge of best and current security practices for websites.
Ability to write the necessary code (via HTML/CSS/PHP/JavaScript) and create designs (via PhotoShop/Illustrator) to incorporate other tools to enhance the Department's interactive media platforms such as survey forms, workshop registration modules, event calendars and more as the Department needs adjust. Ability to present uniformity between web sites and social networking strategy by working closely in a team environment to both define and execute this strategy for a consistent brand identification.
Ability to gather information and requirements from internal stakeholders to add and update appropriate new content or features to the websites.
Knowledge of search engine marketing (SEM) and search engine optimization (SEO). Design web pages to ensure optimal search engine optimization that requires a thorough understanding of how search engine algorithms function and in turn how to direct program staff to write content that contains key search terms in order to rank higher on search engine result pages as well as conveying the Department's marketing messages.
Incorporate and maintain an email marketing service that provides customized templates for the various program offices to communicate with their customers. Responsible for ensuring that all Department lists function properly i.e., opt-in and unsubscribe functions; tracking email open and click thru rates and providing results to applicable program offices.
Knowledge of Google Analytics and ability to generate and analyze the various reports and make web site improvements based on findings. Provide recommendations to program offices on how to improve content to be more relevant thereby increasing page views and time on site. Provide statistical reports of performance and trends to key managers for inclusion in annual reports, budget documents, presentations to the various industry representatives, etc.
Train Department staff designated as users on how to utilize the tools, manage their data files in the back end of the system, etc. Responsible for developing and conducting an ongoing training program and user manuals for existing users and training new staff as needed.
Responsible for all interactive technology platforms, testing environments and any mobile devise initiatives for these platforms and communicating server and broadband needs and issues.
Create a UX/UI framework that allows for scalability as new features or service offerings arise. This includes building an internal UX/UI testing environment in order to test design concepts, prototypes, and products through a development and release cycle.
