Primary
Responsibilities:
oRespond to classification inquiries from Customs Brokers and help resolve issues.
Contact buyers and vendors as necessary.
oSupport queries related to preferential origin determinations.
oAudit transactions and complete reporting on documentation acceptability.
oApproves import bookings and maintain applicable expenses to include review of exception reports.
oResponsible for tracking import Purchase Orders written FOB origin from the booking to release.
oResponsible for monitoring timeliness and accuracy of customs entries and releases.
oCoordinates the bookings with Freight forwarders.
oWorks closely with the buyers to meet their shipment requirements.
oMaintain accurate tracking of shipment quantities.
oAudit and approve Freight bills presented by various service providers.
oReview liquidation reports to ensure entries are properly liquidated by US Customs.
oCreate and maintain reports on container arrivals and schedules.
oAddresses customs issues and respond to document requests as needed.
oGenerates quarterly in-transit report oWorks closely with freight forwarders and Customs Brokers oCreates reports on import freight and duties for the Management team oMaintain proper records oIndependently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff oFollow and enforce all compliance rules oComplete any additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Higher education, including two to four year degrees related to business management preferred, but not required.
Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in import/export operations, international business, or another related field.
Certified Customs Specialist, preferred but not required.
Active US Customs Broker License, preferred but not required.
Must have knowledge of proper use of US Customs Harmonized Classification System and Free Trade Agreements Must have working knowledge of US Customs Federal Code of Regulations.
Must have ability to work independently and work in a team setting.
Efficient planning, prioritization and implementation of detailed instructions required.
Effective communication skills both written/oral and interpersonal skills are required Intermediate working experience in AS400 and Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work in a fast paced and detail-oriented environment Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously Physical Requirements:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
