Military Support Specialist

The Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program (YRRP) is a DoD-wide effort to promote the well-being of National Guard and Reserve members, their families and communities, by connecting them with resources throughout the deployment cycle.
Through Yellow Ribbon events, Service members and loved ones connect with local resources before, during, and after deployments.
Reintegration during post-deployment is a critical time for members of the National Guard and Reserve, as they often live far from military installations and other members of their units.
Military Veterans, Military Retirees, and Military Spouses are highly encouraged to apply! Location Harrisburg, PA (On-site) Clearance Requirements Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance Essential Role and Responsibilities The Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Support Specialist (YRSS) works under the general supervision of the contract manager to work in concert with the Air National Guard (ANG) Wing to assist in supporting the Transition Assistance Program (TAP), and Resilience and Life Skill Training, with the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program (YRRP) as priority.
Roles specific to YRRP support may include organizing events, gathering data, requesting funding, making appointments, and tracking and monitoring attendance.
Military Veterans, Military Retirees, and Military Spouses are highly encouraged to apply! QualificationsEducation High School Diploma or equivalent required Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred Experience 2
years of experience working with the military community Must have previous experience supporting the Transition Assistance Program Knowledge of Resilience and Life Skill Training Previous experience as a VA Benefits advisor preferred Previous experience as a Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program Specialist preferred Previous experience as an Event Coordinator Must be experienced in preparing and delivering high-quality presentations in large group settings Experience using event management system/database This position will require extensive travel to Air National Guard units in support of the YRRP Proficient with MS Office Exceptional customer service is a must Recommended Skills Customer Service Databases Event Management Microsoft Office Presentations Ribbon (Software) Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
