Additionally, you will collaborate with the Operations and Leadership teams to promote cross-functional communication and monitor and adjust necessary workflows.
This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, attention to detail and time management skills, exercising discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.
Essential Job Functions Provide direction and coaching to employees and third parties working on project initiatives.
Monitor departmental production and coordinate necessary workflow adjustments with Support Services and UW Leaders.
Evaluate the departments' structure, career development, metrics, quality control, and team members.
Enhance the organization by establishing and ensuring adherence to best practices, introduce new tools and procedures to improve efficiency, and share the updates with impacted areas of the business.
Review existing departmental goals, objectives, performance and developmental plans and update as needed.
Mentor and guide staff in reaching their goals and provide rewards and recognition as needed.
Assist with Market Conduct Exams and required data collection as needed.
Develop and implement remedial action plans as required.
Assist with the maintenance and development of compliance assessment processes/tools to ensure the company is following all state requirements and regulations to maintain full compliance.
Assist and participate in developing the unit's annual budget.
Perform pre-issuance compliance reviews following pre-defined checklists to ensure policy construction adheres to state rules and regulations.
Evaluate current testing plans, processes, procedures, guidelines, and testing environments to identify areas of opportunity for improvement.
Execute all steps in the quality assurance life cycle including the implementation of testing processes and procedures, project test check list completion, sign-off of release notes, creation of problem/defect tracking reporting forms, quality scoring, process improvement action plans, and validation.
Communicate quality performance results and recommend corrective/preventative action plans.
Participate in preparing materials and information required in response to internal and external regulatory audits.
Assist the Product Development and Compliance Specialist in the review, interpretation, and communication of regulatory bulletin impacts on processes, procedures, quality reviews, and systems to mitigate risk in support of compliant practices.
Administer quality and compliance reviews.
Proactively identify opportunities to introduce new and improved processes and procedures to continuously enhance and standardize quality assurance and compliance processes within the Quality Control team and across the company.
Collaborate with IT, Operations, and Underwriting to champion and execute quality assurance and compliance initiatives.
Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor's degree or 5 years of experience in quality control/assurance and compliance within the P&C insurance industry.
Three years of leadership/supervisory experience required.
Demonstrated effective problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills with a solutions-oriented approach.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and project management skills.
Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products, transaction processing, and industry standard systems.
Experience with Duck Creek Policy Admin System desired.
Experience with market conduct exam practices a plus.
Effectively works with all levels of the organization and disciplines in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
Demonstrated commitment to continuing education is preferred.
