Summary:
The role provides technical and managerial leadership to personnel across the Pennsylvania Business Unit to effectively develop and deliver the Capital Investment Program tied to success criteria defined in the company's capital strategy.
The role works closely with operations management and support personnel leading and coordinating project activities and developing consistent and efficient practices across the business unit.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES Manage direct reports and guide indirect reports who support the delivery of capital projects for the business unit.
Develops, with the support of engineering, operations and management, annual and medium term capital plans that achieve operational and business needs while adhering to company financial goals.
Ensure the successful delivery of the capital investment program, including budget, schedule, performance and other objectives.
Drive efficiency into project delivery through standardization, monitoring of delivery metrics and utilization of alternate procurement and delivery methods as applicable.
Provides monthly reports to local and corporate management regarding the status of capital projects and issues affecting project performance.
Monitor and manage budgets, forecasts and changes to the plan according to corporate guidelines.
Oversee preliminary engineering and coordination of any studies, pilot testing programs, budget development, project reviews and funding approvals.
Selects and manages engineering and other consultants for projects as required.
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering/ Master's Degree preferred.
Registered Professional Engineer Minimum 10 years's experience managing design and construction projects for water utilities including:
source of supply, treatment, pumping facilities, storage tanks, new and existing transmission, distribution/service lines and automated metering systems.
Minimum 5 years; experience managing engineering and related professional staff.
