Description:
This position is responsible for developing BI solutions using SAP Business Objects tools. The candidate will be a member of a dynamic enterprise business intelligence solutions team responsible for multiple concurrent projects across various business areas. The candidate will perform all phases of the SDLC. The position requires advanced problem-solving skills to build and maintain complex, analytical BI solutions. The candidate should also have a strong understanding of data warehouse concepts. This individual will provide support to Business Objects Crystal Reports, Dashboards, and WEBI business users and serve as a backup Business Objects server administrator. The candidate will be heavily involved with migrating from Business Objects XI 3.1 to Business Objects 4.1 environment. Core technologies utilized are SAP Business Objects Enterprise 3.1 and BI Platform 4.1, Web Intelligence, universes, Xcelsius 2008 and Dashboards 4.1, Crystal Reports 2008 and 2013, and RDBMS such as Oracle 11g, MS SQL Server 2008+, and IBM DB2.
Specific Duties
Develop reports, dashboards, universes, and analytics using the SAP Business Objects tool suite (Web Intelligence, Universe, Dashboards, and Crystal Reports) for an enterprise Business Intelligence (BI) portal.
Develop Oracle analytical queries, views, and PL/SQL procedures and functions. Additionally, MS SQL Server and DB2 querying may be required.
Meet with end users and technical staff to gather and document requirements. Diagnose, analyze, troubleshoot and choose appropriate solutions to fix BI component and data-related issues, including query tuning when needed.
Responsible for assisting with the migration of BI documents and repository objects from the current Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.1 environment to a new Business Objects BI Platform 4.1 environment, and future upgrades.
Perform backup administration roles for the Business Objects Enterprise/BI Platform servers, including user administration, service monitoring, troubleshooting/assisting users with various issues, implementing best practices for these environments, and evaluating/coordinating new software and version upgrades.
