AIRCRAFT MECHANIC

As an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, WG-8852-10, you will be responsible for conducting all -10 and -20 level maintenance, checks, and services. Responsible for electrical integrity of the UAS to include installation, calibration, and/or adjustment of electrical and electronic components, electrical and mechanical controls, and instruments. Responsible for assembly, pre-flight, launch and recovery, post-flight, disassembly, storage, and both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities. Maintain and support the communications relay payload, laser spotter payload, laser designator payload, electro-optical (forward looking infra red sensor and television camera, and similar payloads and technology. Responsible for configuring payloads. Use technical publications and schematic diagrams to conduct unit level maintenance. Coordinate any required intermediate level maintenance. Perform periodic and emergency Unit or Intermediate maintenance level inspections and tests to check UAS operability. Perform other duties as assigned. APPOINTMENT STATUS:

ENLISTED E1-E9 Supervisor for this position is CW4 Kalcevic. Individual(s) nominated must successfully complete a baseline initial employment physical examination in accordance with 5 CFR, Part 339 and Technician Personnel Regulation TPR 335. GENERAL
Experience:
Experience or training that has provided the candidate with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications. Must be skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicant must indicate at least 18 months experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification. Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow. Must have the ability to instruct lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES:
Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be further evaluated by the nominating supervisor based on the following competencies considered essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. - Knowledge of a wide variety of parts, components, operation, installation and ability to perform adjustments on a variety of aircraft subsystems and assemblies. - Knowledge of operating electronic principles to troubleshoot and repair malfunctions where circuit theory must be used to understand the operation, not only of individual circuits but also the interaction of other circuits. - Knowledge of the sensitivity of the mission, as well as the major assemblies, systems, and surfaces and how they are designed to operate together. - Ability to test functionality of equipment, troubleshoot the systems; determine if system is operating properly or whether portions of the system must be repaired, replaced, aligned or adjusted. - Skill in reading and understanding data, schematics, technical orders, manufacture's handbooks and repair manuals, settings from instruments and gauges, blue prints, quality control reports, and other documentation and computerized checks and balances. - Knowledge of the operational and maintenance records required for the UAS aircraft and payload and have knowledge of the terminology and format to report work performed. - Knowledge of activity supply procedures to initiate requisitions for needed parts and supplies and tools. - Skill in the care and use of hand and power tools used in aircraft work. Experience:
Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
